Steps

  1. Wash the cucumbers thoroughly.

  2. Wash the lemon thoroughly.

  3. Arrange the cucumbers, lemon slices, garlic, and dill in a jar.

  4. Pour the saltwater over until all the vegetables are completely covered.

  5. Place a small weight on top to keep the cucumbers submerged in the liquid.

  6. Close the jar loosely and leave it at room temperature, releasing gas once a day for 3-7 days (depending on the temperature), until the desired taste is achieved.

  7. Transfer to the refrigerator, where the fermentation will slow and the pickles will keep for several weeks.

Notes

Tip: If small bubbles appear or the liquid becomes a little cloudy - this is usually a sign that natural fermentation is taking place, the white layer is not mold! The author notes: '(Mine are gone within a week on the kitchen counter, no need for a refrigerator)'
