These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Recico app and website operated by Recico ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Recico. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have your parent or guardian's permission.
Accounts
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password
- You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date
- You may not share your account or use another person's account
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
- Notify us immediately at info@recico.app if you suspect unauthorised access
User Content
You retain ownership of the content you upload (recipes, images, notes, reviews). By uploading public content, you grant Recico a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, store, and distribute that content solely to operate the service. You may delete your content or account at any time.
- You must not upload content that is illegal, harmful, abusive, or infringes third-party rights
- You must not upload content that violates another person's copyright or trademark
- You must not use the service to spam, harass, or deceive other users
- We may remove content that violates these Terms without notice
Imported and Third-Party Recipes
Recico allows you to import recipes from external URLs and social media. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to save and use any imported content. Imported recipes remain the intellectual property of their original creators. We are not responsible for the accuracy, legality, or availability of third-party content.
AI Features
- AI-powered features (recipe import, nutrition analysis, meal planning, translation) are provided for convenience only
- AI output may contain errors, inaccuracies, or omissions — always verify nutritional and dietary information
- We do not guarantee the accuracy of AI-generated content
- Do not rely solely on AI-generated nutrition data for medical or dietary decisions
- AI usage is subject to fair-use rate limits to ensure availability for all users
Pro Subscription
Recico offers an optional Pro subscription that unlocks additional features.
- Prices are displayed at checkout and are inclusive of applicable VAT
- Monthly subscriptions are billed in advance and renew automatically until cancelled
- Lifetime plans are a one-time payment with no recurring charges
- You may cancel a monthly subscription at any time; access continues until the end of the billing period
- Refunds are not available for lifetime purchases except where required by law
- Monthly subscriptions may be eligible for a refund within 14 days of initial purchase if the Pro features have not been used
- Payments are processed by Stripe; your card details are never stored by Recico
Affiliate Links
Some links in the app (including ingredient links and book recommendations) may be affiliate links. This means we may earn a small commission if you make a purchase through these links, at no extra cost to you. We only link to products we believe are relevant and useful.
Intellectual Property
The Recico name, logo, design, and software are the intellectual property of Recico and may not be copied, modified, or used without our written permission. User-generated content remains the property of the respective users.
Limitation of Liability
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Recico shall not be liable for:
- Loss of data or content
- Inaccuracies in AI-generated nutritional or dietary information
- Third-party content imported into or linked from the app
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from use of the service
- Service interruptions or downtime
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Termination
- You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms
- We may discontinue the service with reasonable notice
- On termination, your content will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by displaying a notice in the app or by email. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
